Hey guys figured I'd kick off a discussion on the death jig by sharing what I know! With 12 colors and 2 sizes (1.5oz & .75oz) the versatility of this bait is exceptional. It works trolling, casting and drifting! I've used the Death Jig on cloudy windy days as well as sunny flat calm conditions with great success! Walleyes, Bass, Perch and all other nightcrawler loving aquatic species love the Death Jig. As a tournament angler this bait has helped cash checks on some of the biggest Walleye Circuits around! From the time I see the first worm on the ground in the spring until the snow starts flying in the fall I have a WNC Death Jig tied up in my boat!
I figured I'd share a quick tip and let you guys do the same! For catching finicky mid summer walleye try drifting down deeper transition points in 15-25 FOW and dragging the bait behind the boat. .5-1.5 Mph is ideal drifting speed. Set up to let the wind do the work and push you across the structure! Watch your electronics I like to keep the bait 1-3 feet up off bottom. That's where active fish usually mark! Good luck and tight lines! Make sure to drop a photo on this thread!
